Individual Item Engraving Service

  • We absolutely take on one of a kind "walk-in" requests. Our shop minimum is $40 regardless of how small an item is or how little time it takes to run it. Pricing increases from there depending upon complexity and the time it takes.

  • 1) How do I have my item customized by your shop? Contact jeremy@aptwrightservice.com and we can get together on the shop working with your item.

    2) Why is the minimum $40.00? Keep in mind that every project has to be designed on a computer, verified by you, the customer, and then input into the machine before it can be processed. This takes some time, and likely we're working on other things that will require us to fit you in. We're happy to do it and in fact welcome it, but just like you, we value our time.

    3) What is the process like? Can I just come by the shop? You reach out to us via email and then we'll get together on the time to do the work. Generally we can fit you in within a week. The truth is that while I'm building this business, I'm working a full time job too. You will tell me what you want engraved on your item, and then I will create the engraving file, run a proof by you for approval, and then the laser can execute the work.

    4) What materials can I have engraved? Most materials can be engraved with a laser. A few cannot - basically if it can be burned without releasing toxic fumes, it can be engraved with a laser. We are always experimenting with material so we can offer more options. We mostly engrave wood and leather, but CO2 lasers can engrave stone, tile, acrylic, denim, and even sugar cookies. Yes. Sugar cookies, bread, and other food items...

    5) Can you also cut things for me? Yes. The CO2 laser can cut through materials of various thickness up to a point. When it cuts, it is extremely precise. The CO2 laser can even cut fabric for quilting. If our laser cannot do it, we also run a small CNC machine, a large table saw, a large band saw, and various other tools. The current set of machines we have will not cut steel or metals...
